Applications
The main use is to generate electricity for you to reduce your electricity cost.
A wind turbine is a perfect source to produce electricity for residents in rural areas, farms, small industries, island and other locations with good wind conditions. By installing a wind turbine to produce electricity you are therefore saving energy. Based on your needs, you can be connected to the grid and produce wind power when the wind blows, and buy power from your normal electricity supply when there is no wind.
Location
The location of a wind turbine must be carefully planned. Several important points should be considered before the installation to ensure that you receive maximum return on your investment.
Wind speed
The force of the wind increases as a cubic function of wind speed.
For example, to increase the power 8 times the wind speed doubles. The higher the average wind speed the more electricity can be produced from a wind turbine. For small scale wind turbines it is important that local conditions are favorable. If you know that you have a location with good wind conditions at the planned turbine site it is often enough.
Turbulence
Turbulence can damage the wind turbine and reduce the efficiency significantly. Turbulence can be caused by vegetation and buildings in the wind power plant vicinity
Tower Height
The height of the tower is important for turbine efficiency because the higher up the turbine is the greater the wind speed. In flat areas the tower height has to be at least 12m. We can offer towers of between 9.4m to 30 meters, depending on turbine size.
Surrounding obstacles
Trees and buildings slow the air flow and cause a wide and high area of turbulence around them. Avoid, if possible, placing the wind turbine near obstacles. For maximum efficiency the distance to the nearest building should be at least 75 meters and the turbine should be 6 feet higher than the building.
